Trophies are taking home trophies, Trophies shall not be returned to the TDCA

The Tournament will be organized by the TDCA

The Tournament is open to all the District Cricket Players affiliated to the TDCA. Each Player can represent only one team for the Tournament.

  1. BIRTH QUALIFICATIONAny player representing the District Cricket Association, a Digital Birth Certificate within the boundary limits of the respective revenue district as prescribed by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu or;
  2. RESIDENT / EMPLOYMENT/ EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONA player if born outside the jurisdiction of the district, shall be eligible to participate, subject to producing residential status documentation as on 31st Dec 2024, such documentation should include the following: Documents required for considering on the basis of above criteria should be upload RESIDENT (any one : Aadhar Card, Nativity Certificate, Passport & Voter Id. EDUCATION : School/College Mark sheets for the previous academic year duly authenticate by the Principal and Bonafide Certificate singed by Principal. CENTRAL / STATE EMPLOYMENT Employer Certificate along with 6 months’ salary slip from 01.01.2025 and bank statement from 01.1.2025 showing the relevant salary credits. Player once represent for a particular team can only play the same team in the Tournament throughout the season.

Penalty for infringement the eligibility rules, Forgery / Tampering documents will entail at the discretion of District Cricket Association and the Committee:

  1. Debarring player for a period of time.
  2. Awarding the match to opponent.
  3. Negative Points to the TNCA TDCA League Season 2024-25.
  4. Impose financial penalty towards player ( If required )
Any decision of the Tournament Committee cannot be appealed further,
  1. AGE ELIGIBLITY - No Restrictions.
  2. ENTRIES for 20 Teams which already registered with the Association.
  1. The Tournament will be conducted on T20 format on a league-cum-knock-out basis among the 20 district teams, on MATTING WICKETS. District Tournament Committee will fix match venues for all group stage matches to avoid undue home advantage for any teams.
  2. The entire Tournament shall be played with colour clothing or the Clothings fixed by the Teams.
  3. TDCA Will be Providing the Match balls and Old balls to be returned to the Umpires.
  4. Two Matches will be played in a day 1st Match will commence at 9.00 am 2nd Match will commence at 1.00 pm
First Stage

Teams will be divided into 4 Pool and Top 2 teams from each Pool will qualify for the next stage.

16.3 All other matches – A Tie or No Result

16.3.1 A Tie

The result of a match shall be a Tie when both innings have been completed and the scores are equal.

If the scores are equal, the result shall be a tie and no account shall be taken of the number of wickets that have fallen. In the event of a tied match the teams shall compete in a Super Over to determine the winner.

During the league stage, if the Super Over is tied, the match shall be declared a tie and points allocated as in Clause 16.10.1. During the knockouts, if the Super Over is tied, subsequent Super Overs (Maximum 3 Super Overs) shall be played until a winner is determined. Refer to Appendix E.

16.10.1 The League competition table for the first stage shall be compiled by the positions in which shall be determined by the number of points gained with points being awarded as follows:

  • 2 Points for each Match Won;
  • 1 point per team taking part in any match with No result or any match which is tied (where it was not possible to complete a Super Over at the end of play or where the Super Over itself is tied);
  • 0 points for Match lost

16.10.2 Where the teams have an equal number of points their relative position shall be determined by the following:

16.10.2.1 The team with the most wins in matches in the League during the season will be placed in the higher position;

16.10.2.2 Should there be equality in both points and wins, and then the team who has won the match against each other if they have already played against each other in the league phase. This will be applicable if only two teams are on same number of points and number of wins.

16.10.2.3 If there are teams with equal points and equal wins during the season and 16.10.2.2 is not applicable then in such case the team with the higher run rate (as calculated in clause 16.12 below) will be placed in the higher position;

16.10.2.4 If following the run rate calculation above there are teams which are still equal, then the team with the higher number of wickets taken per fair balls bowled in the matches played that season in which results were achieved will be placed in the higher position;

During Knock-out Stage Matches (II Stage to Final) If the Match ends in a Tie, the relevant teams shall compete in a super over/multiple super over (maximum 3 super overs including the 1st Super Over) to determine which team is the winner of the match in question and

16.11.2 If conditions do not permit a Super over/multiple super over within the time available to determine the winner or if the super over/multiple super over is tied following the completion of all mechanism as described in Appendix E. (or)

16.11.3 If both the teams have not had an opportunity of batting for a minimum of 5 overs, Then the team which at the end of the league stage finished higher in the position in the league table (if even in different groups) (in accordance with 16.10 above) will be deemed the winner of the relevant knockout match. If still there is Tie in the position in the league table position, the winner of the Match will be decided by spin of coin in the presence of Umpires.

In the Final, if the match ends in a tie and if the conditions do not permit a Super Over/Multiple Super Over within the time available to determine the winner or if the Super Over/ Multiple Super Over is tied following the completion of all mechanisms as described in Appendix E or if both the teams have not had an opportunity of batting for a minimum of 5 overs, then both the teams will be declared as Joint Winners and the Trophy will be shared.

Protest, if any, pertaining to the matches shall be lodged in writing by the manager of the team with the Hon. Secretary within 24 hours from the termination of the match in question. All protests shall be accompanied by a protest fee of Rs.2,000/-

The Tournament Committee and their decision shall be final and binding and no further appeal can be made.

Umpires / Scorer shall be appointed by the TDCA for all the matches The Umpires / Scorer officiating at each match shall furnish full details of the match along with their report and comments to the TDCA immediately after the match.

  1. The MCC laws of cricket (2017 code 3rd edition 2022) read together with the playing conditions.
  2. Conceding of Matches and giving walkover at any stage of the Tournament is not permitted.
  3. Under-arm bowling is prohibited in all matches.
  4. Any team not ready to start the match at the scheduled time.
  5. In the event of soggy pitch and bad ground conditions.
  6. Captains of teams shall handover the playing eleven.
  7. In matches played on matting wickets all players.
  8. Cricket balls to be used in all matches will be Provided by TDCA.
  9. Any indiscipline by any player/team reported by the Umpire.
  10. Any point not covered in these rules shall be decided.
